second month

this was taken at the time i have no nanny.

aquila is always in it all day.

first kicks

first month

his first month and we can't get enough pictures of him

his crib is huge and didn't want to sleep in it.

so what we did is put the car seat on it and he sleeps there.

he loved it. maybe he wants to sleep all curled up

he used the car seat as his bed until he's in his third month

what can we do? his first addiction is his binky

he can't sleep without it

first week

his third day at home

a week after this: may 27, 2009, he had fevers that won't go away

so we rushed him to the hospital

he was confined for a week for UTI

baby had to endure all the needles and antibiotics and IV =(

since aquila did not cry when he came out, they have to put him under this oxygen thing.

but nothing is wrong with him really.

he is outside the nursery and took this pic behind the glass window.

7lbs 12 oz via normal delivery (vacuum extraction)

i woke up that morning and went straight to the nursery to take this pic

that morning i tried to feed him but he cannot latch.

i tried again that evening and he was able to latch but still no milk from me.

so no choice but to feed him formula =(

the big day

18 may 2009

10am

bleeding. packed and ready to go to Delgado hospital

1pm

at Dra. Lillian De Vera's clinic

3cm and she asked me to go to the labor room right away but I asked if i could eat first coz i'm hungry.

she said NO solid food but you can drink juice.

so raoul and i went to mcdonald's (the nearest in the area).

he ordered his burger and nuggets and pineapple juice for me.

i am so hungry i ate two of his nuggets :D

2pm

at labor room

the usual prep: bp, shaving, washing, enema and the questionnaire.

they found out i ate nuggets and told my ob about it. my ob was mad :D

i'm still so hungry. even the other moms-to-be beside me are all hungry

and the worst part of it was the nurses are talking about what to order on KFC delivery.

how rude! they didn't even asked us what we want to order! amp!

every hour they do the IE on me. and it hurts everytime!

5pm

still in labor room

im having strong contractions and i am actually crying from pain but didn't complain.

one of the nurses saw me crying and gave me the pain killer right away.

they also gave me (i forgot the name) to induce my labor.

another IE and this was the most painful one.

they broke my water bag and then the very strong contractions.

it was so painful, i was sobbing all the time.

the pain killer started to take effect and i was groggy and i think i fell asleep.

the next thing i knew, i am in the delivery room and the nurses and doctors are screaming and telling me to push.

and so i pushed.

11:08pm

AQUILA NABONG IS BORN.

there are some slight complications. as you can see in this picture, Doc is explaining to raoul what had happened.

first, during my labor, baby is having a problem with his heartbeat

that is why they asked me to lie down in a certain position.

second, after the baby came out, he did not cry.

no problem with his breathing or heartbeat, he just did not cry.
